Olivia Lavreysen
Biography
In 2021, I obtained my master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the KU Leuven. Afterwards, I started my PhD research at the Centre for Environment and Health, KU Leuven, under supervision of prof. dr. Lode Godderis, and the STIMULUS Research Group, VUB, under supervision of prof. dr. Maarten Moens. My areas of interest are mental health, job retention and return-to-work (RTW) with a focus on biomarkers. At the KU Leuven, I’m investigating the association between different biological markers (e.g. stress, epigenetics, inflammation) and burnout in medical students and trainees. At the VUB, I’m involved in the OPERA project focusing on RTW in Persistent Spinal Pain Syndrome Type II patients after Spinal Cord Stimulation following a personalized biopsychosocial rehabilitation program.
